Norm’s Delicatessen started out in 1984.
Some interesting facts about 1984:

Norm’s Delicatessen is that laid back place that kept things simple and the patrons who visits everyday love things just the way they are. Norm’s started out with humble beginnings with roots going as far back as when his mother Ann opened her first Deli and sold it in 1984. The very same year Norm’s Delicatessen was opened on June 7, 1984.
Since then Brenda and Norm’s have become parents to their wonderful daughter Amy who works at the Deli at least twice per week while working in another capacity as a Dental Hygienist.
The walls at Norm’s Deli is full of surprises! lined with autographs from Hockey Players to Musicians, friends and family.
THE WALL OF FAME
So, what have been their key to longevity and success since 1984 while many other businesses haven’t been able to stay open over the past 32 years?
Customer Service, Quality of products that are simple, fresh and tasty, friendly, warm and hospitable service goes a long way. They don’t do it for the show, they love what they do and want’s everyone to feel at home when at Norm’s Deli.
Brenda was born in Bowmanville but grew up not too far from here in Hampton, Ontario. Norm who I like to describe as very stern, frank and to the point kind of guy who is very strict with a deep voice, especially when it comes to his time. Yes, he gave me fifteen minutes to take the shots because when he gets busy, he gets busy. Norm’s was born in Etobicoke and grew up in Oshawa and Bowmanville. He may be stern but he’s also a very kind man and kindness can go a long way. This is what I believe have serve both Norm and Brenda well. They do not treat their customers in a condescending manner. Their customers know that they mean well and that I believe have translated into a business that have stood the test of time.
“Not many people today can say that they have been in business for 32 years and that I believe commands respect.”
Don’t be fooled by their simple appearance. These little bite size morsels are absolutely tasty and are pack full of so much flavour! The Star of the Show at Norm’s is of course the Famous Perogies.
Talk about simplicity!
You can have these yummy perogies however you want or you can have them with your favourite glass of wine. Usually I don’t get fancy either when eating these perogies. Just my favourite glass of drink will do with just a dash of hot sauce.
On the Menu at Norm’s Deli:
Hot Roast Beef Sandwich
Ham & Cheese Sandwich
Schnitzel on a bun
Sausage on a bun
During the busy Christmas Season if you plan on getting any of these famous perogies order early or you will be disappointed. Perogies are an hot item during the Christmas Holiday.
