It’s 12:09 am and yes, it’s officially my birthday ahh….Lovely, lovely, lovely! Can’t wait until later in the morning for my kids to wake up and see what Santa brought them. I figure I would do my blog post right now instead of my usual time, because I will be busy later in the morning watching the kids open their gifts. Anyway, I am all in one piece, Yep! I should actually double check to make sure everything is all in one piece, yeah! So far so good, oh, my gosh! I am alive and well after a much hectic and trying year and my kids have a roof over their little heads for now. I was Santa’s assistant for awhile—I believe all the parents out there work for Santa part-time too, oh, my! All the little boys and girls will be happy with what Santa got them for sure. My Birthday Ritual? ummm….— drinking a glass of “Baileys Irish Cream.” This is something I started doing since I lived in Jamaica years ago, when I was around 20 yrs.old, and just kept doing it. Other than that, I just love to make my kids happy,I just want to see them smile everyday that’s all I really ask for.
This Christmas is the first year I bought myself my own gift, yep! It’s all good though, I’m just going with the flow, just going with the flow. My holiday wish is not to be in my house on New Years Eve, oh, my gosh! I would rather be somewhere else, especially given my new life situation, yep, that would be nice. I’ll probably end up been at home though, listening to some music and watching a movie. Usually the kids can’t stay up until 12 pm at night New Years Eve especially my 5 yr. old son by 9 pm he’s ready for bed.
( Seen here the Gingerbread house I made for the kids, it was easy to make, but my son was too excited and impatient he wanted it done really fast. Yeah, I could have helped them to decorate it, but I want them to learn to do things on their own. Both kids decorated it themselves on Christmas Eve, and man did they have fun, my son Richard can’t wait to smash it.)
(See below previous blog post for the Gingerbread recipe).
Several years ago at Christmas time my Grandmother would do most of the cooking, she was such a great cook though. She would cook anything and not taste the food and it would be perfect, she just know the right amount of seasoning to add without tasting. I picked that up from her in a way and sometimes I cook like that, but not all the time. The most important thing though was that she never fuss about receiving anything for Christmas, she was always giving to others, whether it’s food or clothes whatever she had she would give what she could and she did it with such sincerity. She was a great woman and now on a day like today I miss her dearly, but she will always be in my heart, always. I know she watches over me everyday.
Usually on Christmas day I just hang out with the kids, watch a couple movies, play a game or two with them and listen to some of my favourite music, and just relax, which is exactly what I will be doing today. It would be nice since it’s my birthday to not do anything, but just rest all day, oh, my, gosh! But who am I kidding, mommy’s don’t get time off especially at Christmas time even if it’s their birthday.
Below you will find a couple of my favourite Christmas movies and some of the music videos I enjoy listening to. It’s my birthday so music, and more music today—Enjoy!

Christina Milian age 29 yrs. old, born to Cuban parents was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, started her career singing and dancing but later ventured out into acting. Apparently, John Travolta was so impressed by her dancing in this video having been a dancer himself and later moving into acting, he decided to cast her in the movie “Be Cool” (2005). Milian has released three studio albums, and is currently working on her fourth studio album due for release in 2011. I l0ve this video because it’s also a great workout video too. Christina looks so sweet and simple outside but when she dances it’s a whole other story, you can see why John was impressed, she becomes an entirely different person—On my last blog post I talked about creative dreams, see what I meant when I say if you love dancing or music, pursue your passion whatever it is–you never know where it will lead you. Enjoy!
Love this video, and if you can dance go ahead “pop that thing!” ladies– Oh, my, gosh! I am Jamaican so I can help myself, ahh! I don’t know any Jamaican that can’t dance, haven’t meet anyone yet. I think all Jamaicans are born with music in their body anyway. Enjoy!

Julia Bedford is a dedicated homemaker whose world is rocked when in her divorce; she is left with next to nothing. When Julia finally hits rock bottom and finds herself living in her car, she decides to begin her comeback and ultimately discovers what is really valuable in life.
*I just watched this movie last week on TV I have seen it more than one time now, the only difference with me watching now is that I can relate to this movie a whole lot more, now that I am going through my own separation. “Can you imagine sleeping in your car especially during the winter time?” Tough, but it’s happen to many women just like it’s depicted in the movie. Many people in society today questions why sometimes a woman going through a separation won’t move out of their home. I will say personally, now going through my own separation that I have to make sensible decisions based on my two wonderful children. If I put my children in harms way, I am quite sure social services would have something to say about that. Then when your children are taken from you, then people say, “what a bad mom, she should have taken better care of her kids alot better.” See you can’t please anyone—But yourself. People only see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear. This movie hit home for me because, can you imagine my two wonderful children living in a car on the street somewhere—especially during Christmas time? God is with me everyday, he knows the things I have been through and he will make everything right at some point in time, all will be well with God right beside me and my two kids. God always have a plan though– so trust in him.
