Just yesterday I spoke with my Grandfather in Jamaica he is 84 yrs.old. God bless him I hope he stays around for a long time I called him because I needed some advice, some words of wisdom so to speak. He is so wise, if I could bottle up his words of wisdom and sell it, that would be great. I was talking to him and he was finishing my sentences for me before I finished speaking, I swore he was reading my mind. Oh, my, gosh! I was like, yes, yes, exactly and we were laughing together, it was great. My Grandmother was a great source of wisdom for me growing up as a small child but she passed away several years ago, but my Grandfather he’s a very wise man, thank God I have him in my life even though he’s all the way in Jamaica I can still stay in touch.
This week I took the liberty of updating my Blogroll (Over at Booster Shots For Living)after “Recent Posts”) something I haven’t done in awhile. Feel free to click on any of the links you like and visit any of the sites. So, often times when I do have a chance you will find me over at “Publishers Weekly”, Poets & Writers or “Readers Digest.” Publishers Weekly is great because you get to see the Best Sellers for the week or the month. Basically just catching up on what’s currently been published. The website is great for aspiring writers and others or even if you don’t have any interest in writing, but you just want to find out about new writers, this website is one of the best to visit, to catch up on what’s happening in the publishing world.
Other times I will be checking out the latest news on “ Care 2”, Planet Green, Living Planet Community or over at the “Huffington Post.” I like keeping up with trends in the Marketplace so you will find me browsing over at “Springwise.” A great site to visit because you get to know what trends are happening whether in your own country or internationally. For inspiration, or just for a fun read as well as for entertainment, you will usually find me browsing over at “Coastal Living Magazine” or Southern Living Magazine.”
Update
Update on Andrew Allen’s New Song: “Loving You Tonight” in just 19 dys Andrew has received over 1.8 million views. Great song, love it, I can’t stop playing it, it’s the kind of song that you want to listen to over and over again. On Youtube some fans have commented that this song is just as likeable as the guys who sang like a “G6” and “Rocketeer.”–“Far East Movement.” Yep, I agree it’s a cool song, not a song you get tired of listening to, for sure. Additional info about Andrew Allen (29 yrs.old) is that he is married to wife julie (seen in photo above)I don’t know how long but in an interview he mentioned he got married during is touring days at the beginning of his career when he travelled to the United States and the Caribbean. So, I assume he’s been married for several years now. You can see his song below on my blog or click on link here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UR_0URQKHIY You can pass on the song to your friends etc.
Every week when I select songs for my blog, it’s usually based on the mood I am in really—-well, most of the time. Other times it depends on the message the song is giving or I just simple like the song. Since I am from the Caribbean I like to dance so you will usually find a upbeat song featured on my blog most times, like a good R&B/hip hop song or a good Reggae Song that I enjoy dancing to. Like this week for example, I have selected “Darius Rucker” as the theme for this weeks blog post. Darius New Song is entitled: “This” A brand new song just out for release 10 days ago.
Gosh, I love Darius. Talk about a song writer and singer who makes songs with real meanings the kind of songs that last in your memory and you can relate to it. As well, a song that offers an important message. So, here is a song that most adults can relate to male or female.
The Song is about when things happen to us in life and one thing leads to another, one door closes another one opens. I have spoken of this on my blog in the recent past but just briefly. In life we all go through those moments in time where life kind of forces us into a new direction either moving to a new city, taking a new job, purchasing a new home, deciding to start a family, you have your first break up, loose everything you own in life, ending a relationship, or taking a new path in life, and so on. All these experiences in life is what ultimately leads us to new things in life. So, like in the song, the guy didn’t get the girl he wanted when he was in College but that lead him to someone else, a new person came into his life suddenly that he could start his new life with.
The song though is more than that as mentioned previously. Each life experience takes us on a new path a new journey and so when some of our plans don’t work out the way we want, sometimes it’s a blessing in disguise, because something else could be waiting for us just around the corner. The ending of a relationship, the end of a job, the journey to a new home or city are all great examples of a “Blessing in Disguise” situation. Why? Well, just like Darius depicts in the song, the person is heart broken over the lost of a relationship but life had some big surprises waiting for him. The song doesn’t apply only to relationships but to most of our life experiences it’s simply a metaphor for life, one that most people can relate to. If we get fired from a job, or we have to sell our home and move to a new town or city, or we find ourselves single and on our own, all these experiences usually holds a “Blessing in Disguise” somewhere for us to learn from. Darius brings this message to us through his song and it’s refreshing to hear a song like that.
So, Darius sings, “Thank God for all I have missed because it lead me here to this……!” Such a powerful message. So, for the guy in the song, what happened to him with him having that break up in College finally lead him to his new love and quite possibly his soul mate, because he got married at the end of the video. That’s the key message from the song. All the things that didn’t work out in the past for you, eventually leads you to something else, unexpected and wonderful things can happen to you in life all good things. One door closes another one opens. So, Basically, Darius is saying, “Cheer up! Better things are yet to come.”

Last week I touched briefly on the topic of “Mistakes and Regrets” and I was updating my Blogroll when I came across this article from the “Mom Blog Network” I figured the article was too good to pass up so I have reposted the article here. It seems like a great follow up article, a extended version of what I wrote last week. It’s interesting what this mom wrote versus what I said, similar in many ways. The article was written geared towards parents but the latter part of the article works more towards a general audience. The article was written just a few days after I posted mine. Laurie Wallin suggests four positive ways to respond to them so the incident becomes a learning experience. Here’s her advice on how to take your lemons and make them into lemonade.
4 Ways to Make Your Mistakes Worth It
It’s winter. Which means rain in our drought-prone city. It never fails that as the first rain drops fall, the whole city forgets how to drive, and whines about weather as we stand in supermarket check-out lines.
Oops!
Yours might not be weather-related blunders, but we all make mistakes. Some are minor, irritating and transitory. Others are devastating to ourselves or those we love. In the midst of those moments, how will we handle our mistakes?
Face Them
Take responsibility for whatever you’ve done. Otherwise one mistake automatically becomes two. When we take responsibility for our choices and actions we demonstrate wisdom, and have more opportunities to reconnect with whoever we’ve affected. It also saves us time, because when we face our mistakes we can more quickly make things right instead of floundering in denial. And, even better, when we’re honest with ourselves, we can more easily avoid making the same mistakes later.
Learn from Them
Mistakes are great teachers. In fact, many brilliant people staunchly believe we learn more from them than from our successes in life! What are the mistakes you’ve made recently trying to teach you? How can you grow in that knowledge? What will you do differently next time? And be careful of thoughts that SEEM like learning, but really represent shutting down to people and opportunities in the future. Things like “I learned never to trust people again.” That kind of “learning” will just lead to many more mistakes over time!
Recognize the Value of Experience
A lot of mistakes come from trying something new, or some new way of approaching an old issue. Be courageous and decide you’re going to relish the experience you’ve had through your mistakes. Even if it was a truly painful or tragic thing at the time, there are probably precious jewels of experience you gained because of them. Treasure those. And give yourself a little credit for trudging through the work it took to get that experience. All of it combined is what makes you who you are. As my friend recently said, “Erasing [all our mistakes] would just leave a blank space — that’s not very interesting.”
Get Over Them
We make mistakes. It’s what makes us human. We can spend a lifetime stewing over them, or we can cut ourselves some slack, apologize to those we’ve hurt, make amends, and move along. There’s nothing to gain in wallowing here except a waste of a life. And fearing making our next mistake is almost as bad. As Elbert Hubbard says, “The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one.” So decide to walk through, learn from, absorb the experience and move past your mistakes. Life’s too short not to!
Where are you at with your own mistakes recently? What do you need to be able to handle them better?

*My Conclusion
Everyone in life deserves a second chance. We all deserve to have the ability to right our wrongs, and to correct or amend any mistakes we have in life. I have been given second chances in life by God, from saving my life when I was just a baby to countless other second chances, so yes, I am fair in that regard and I believe that if someone made an error in life or if they made a mistake they should be given a second chance to correct their error if it is possible for them to do so. God always believe in second chances. Regrets in life are difficult to live with it because it eats away at the soul and often times people with regrets can’t live a happy and fulfilling life. I have spoken to people in the past and when asked if they regret anything, their face says it all you can see the sadness in their eyes and faces. They always talk about something that happen 10, 15 yrs ago, this deep, deep regret that never seems to go away, never. They will appear to look normal on the outside carrying on with their life, keeping busy with homelife or work but inside—regrets in life eats, away and chips away at the soul for years and these people end up not been happy in life at all no matter what they do. Who wants that for anyone? Regrets are toxic for the soul not good, not good at all. So, no one should have to live with regrets. If there is a chance that they can correct their mistakes, “Right their wrongs so to speak,” and repair their error, seek forgiveness, etc. then they should be given that chance, because I believe they won’t make the same mistake again.
I have a great book called “Escaping Emotional Entrapment—Freedom from Negative Thinking and Unhealthy Emotions-Author Daniel Rutley. I would like to share a brief thought from his book Pg. 189—Chapter “Self-Denigration” If you have a chance get his book highly recommended. http://www.danielrutley.com/
Humans make all kinds of reasoning, thinking, personal, social, relational and financial errors to name a few. These errors are more common and usually intensified when we get ourselves depressed, angry, fearful, jealous, embarrassed, etc. Blunders don’t make us bad, they make us human. While we may make some very bad decisions when we get distressed and some unpleasant consequences may befall us, it’s still no reason to castigate ourselves. You will never achieve anything of worth self-denigration or guilt. Never!
“Judgementalness and self-righteousness go hand in hand unless you are perfect and without flaw, abandon both.”

When You Need to Stand Strong in Times of Weakness
Lord, I thank You that I can always see Your goodness in my life, and I know I will continue to see it in the future. Even when I lose hope and can’t find joy in my heart, I can live by faith that my hope is in You, and Your joy shall once again rise in my soul. And it will happen this side of heaven. When I have trouble standing strong in certain difficult situations, help me to not lose heart and fall into discouragement. I ask that You would be my strength. Infuse me with Your power so that I become emboldened and invincible.
I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
